Context: The surf industry in Rio de Janeiro generates massive non-biodegradable waste. The objective was to build a circular economy startup that intercepted this waste while empowering vulnerable local populations.

Engineering: Incubated within the Recreio Limpo association. Architected a vertically integrated upcycling ecosystem. Re-engineered waste collection to mandate direct interactions with surf shops, professionalizing the role of local waste pickers and restoring social dignity. Transitioned from recycling toxic materials to innovating a proprietary, 100% organic wax using natural adhesives, attracting global industrial investment.

Outcome: Successfully launched a commercially viable range of upcycled gear. Secured preliminary commitment from a Swiss industrialist for R&D expansion before the global pandemic halt. A blueprint for scalable, sustainable infrastructure.
